Bishop Mike Okonkwo is the founder of the The Redeemed Evangelical Mission’s (TREM). The ministry has over 180 branches in Nigeria and 10 other countries, Bishop Mike passionately preaches Power in the Word of God to global audience.
His impact on countless people worldwide makes him an apostle for this generation. Dr. Mike Okonkwo is a father to many, a pastor to many pastors around the world, a compelling conference speaker, crusade preacher, author, host of television and radio programs, a powerful and well-known voice in Nigeria, and a supporter of well-balanced Christianity.
Bishop is the founder and patron of the Empowerment for the Less Privileged (ELP) Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to easing the plight of society’s less privileged through, donations to hospitals, the opening of free vocational training facilities, the operation of free preparatory schools for students in secondary schools, and the facilitation of ongoing public awareness campaigns on health-related issues.
Bishop Mike was born on the 6th of September 1945, in his hometown of ogbonike, Oyi Local govt Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He started his basic education in Enugu state, Nigeria after which he completed in Ebutte-meta, Lagos Nigeria.
Dr. Mike Okonkwo is a graduate of the Covington Theological Seminary and the Morris Cerrullo School of Ministry in the United States. He also holds a number of honorary doctorate degrees. He is the convener of the Communion of Covenant Ministers International (CCMI), a network of pastors that meets at conferences, seminars, and other events for networking, fellowship, spiritual covering, mentoring, and strengthening. The National Ministers Conference has him as a co-host (NMC). Bishop is also is a Trustee and a member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria’s National Advisory Council (NAC) (PFN).
Bishop Peace Okonkwo is the Proprietress of the Word of Power Group of Schools as well as the Resident Pastor of the Headquarters Church of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM). She reflect a contagious joy and tranquility that can only come from God, serving as a pillar of hope for the Body of Christ. Giving women and children around the world hope is her life’s work.
Bishop Mike Okonkwo’s Ministries
The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) has numerous arms, all focused on reaching the “unreached” wherever they may be found, and has a pastoral staff strength of over 250 men and women. To this end, the ministry has the “We Care” Ministry, which ministers to the less fortunate by providing relief items, food, free basic medical care, lenient short-term loans, and encouraging petty trading in order to make each individual self-sufficient. The ministry also organizes Prisons Outreaches and crusades in various towns and villages.
The Ministry firmly believe in the ability of God’s word to transform lives and also the supernatural.
