The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for WEDNESDAY 20TH DECEMBER 2023 Is “Be Grateful”
Read:Matthew 6:31-34
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Memorise: Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
As a child of God, when you come before God, the most important thing is Him, not you. If you want your needs to be met, you will have to give God what He wants, and that is to put Him first in all things. As His child, you have been provided with all you will ever need: you just have to reverence Him for you to have access to the things He has provided.
To show Him how important He is to you, honour Him and His words. Spend quality time in His presence, and things will begin to fall in place for you (1 Samuel 2:30b).
As a child of God, it is inappropriate to make demands from God without thanking Him for the things He has done for you. Maybe you had goals that were not fulfilled in the course of the year, it does not erase the fact that God is a good God; so, thank Him still. The fact that you are alive to read this devotional this year is something to be grateful for.
