The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Thursday 14 Th December 2023 Is “Honour Your Parents”
Read: JOHN 19:25-27
[25]Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
[26]When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
[27]Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due: custom to whom custom: fear to whom fear: honor to whom honor.
One of the reasons Some children die young is because they lack respect for their parents or elders.
Exodus 20:12 commands us to honour our parents so that our days may be long. It therefore means that anyone who does otherwise might not live long.
Taking care of your parents is a Way of honouring them. David is a good example of someone who took good care of his parents.
At the time Saul was hunting for David, though he was always on the run, he looked for a safe place to hide his parents, whom he knew would be susceptible to attack from Saul (1 Samuel 22:1-4).
If you deny your parents before your friends because you feel they are not well dressed, then you don’t honour them.
Also, if you wait for your parents to call your name repeatedly in the house before you run errands or demand a gift before helping them, you don’t honour them.
As much as it lies within you, make them happy at all times because you will reap what you sow.
