16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Honesty is the best policy. If we are going to do business God’s way, we must do it with honesty and integrity. The Christian life is not just in words and confession; it is a way of life. It is a practice evident in our daily activities. There should be a glaring difference between the way Christians do business and the world’s way of doing business. It is unfortunate, however, that even some unbelievers are more honest than some so-called Christians. This ought not to be so.
Weights were anciently made of stone used by Eastern shopkeepers and traders, who take them out of the bag and put them in the balance. They had great and small weights. The Israelites were expected to have one weight. Using different weights and measures was a form of theft. This is because a business person would use a heavier weight or larger measure when purchasing items, thus obtaining more for himself and then a lighter weight and smaller measure when selling to the purchaser, giving less to the customer. This is nothing but theft!
We are to be totally honest in our business dealings. There should be no dichotomy between the sacred and the secular life. We cannot be someone in church on Sunday and then turn into a different person outside the church on other days. We must walk worthy of our Christian profession. Unethical business practices are defiance to God. Three times in Proverbs (Proverbs 11:1, 20:10 and 20:23), it is declared that a false balance or differing weights are an abomination to the Lord. An abomination is an attitude or action that is repugnant to the Lord and which He cannot endure. And because God loathes it, it comes under His judgment.
God blesses honesty. In fact, having just weights is one of the prerequisite for long life. Deuteronomy 25:15. As long as there is no extortion, bribery, mischief, deceit or flattery, your business will grow and you will prosper. The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him- Proverbs 11:1 NIV. Do you want to find favour with God in your business and career? Involve Him and be honest. Your business can never go down when you have the Trinity covering you.

1. O God, arise and be my business partner, in the name of Jesus.
2. As I do business today, I resist and reject the temptation to defraud others, in the name of Jesus.
3. As I go out today, the grace and power to do business in the way of God, rest upon me, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Power to get honest wealth, C0me upon me, in the name of Jesus.
5. My business, my career, receive divine touch, in the name of Jesus.
6. I decree that because I do my business with the Trinity, I shall not go down, in the name of Jesus.
7. My Father, arise and turn whatever Itouch to gold, in the name of Jesus.
