The Topic of Deeper Life Daily Manna Devotional for 3rd February 2024 is “The Greatest Event“

Text: Revelation 1:1-8 (KJV)

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

KEY VERSE: Revelation 1:7

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY

Imagine for one moment that you are granted a glimpse of the future; would you not prepare adequately for it? That is what biblical prophecies are: a picture of the future. They are beyond science or any human reasoning, and the more the world tries to dispute them, the more they are fulfilled.

The Revelation to John unveils the end-time programme for the world and its inhabitants. It reveals God’s plan to destroy Satan and his works and establish His righteous kingdom on the earth. The events of the end-time centre around Christ’s Second Coming. While preparing to send His message to the seven churches in Asia, the Lord Jesus Christ announced to John that all the prophecies He was about to outline were not only authenticated by Him and the Holy Spirit, but were actually from God, the Father.

He introduced Himself as “the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth…” He then proclaimed the nature of His second coming, still re-emphasising His Lordship over all creatures and eternal existence. In this Second Coming, all eyes shall see Him in His unparalleled majesty and glory.

There is no better time to remind humanity about Christ’s return than now. His Second Coming will be in two phases: first, at the rapture of the saints, and second, for His millennial reign with the saints in the world. Many people in the world do not believe in Christ’s Second Coming. To them, the promise of His return is a hoax.

As believers, we must constantly prepare ourselves and others for this imminent greatest event of all time. Sinners must be warned of the danger of sin and believers must be warned against complacency as the day of Christ’s return draws near.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Every great event requires great preparation.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
