The Topic of Deeper Life Daily Manna Devotional for 14th March 2024 is “Miraculous Provision“

Text:  Deuteronomy 32:7-14 (KJV)

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

For the Lord‘s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

KEY VERSE: Deuteronomy 32:13

“He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock.”

DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY

When a little girl asked Albert Einstein if scientists pray, he replied in part, “Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifested in the laws of the universe – a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.”

In today’s text, Moses paints a picture of God’s miraculous provision and protection for His people, Israel, after delivering them from Egypt. In his song, Moses uses the metaphor “honey out of the rock” to illustrate the miraculous supplies and preservation God gave His people, using unexpected sources. He recounted the provision of manna, water out of the rock, protection against formidable enemies and other countless favours. But instead of staying faithful to God, Israel rebelled against Him.

That miracles exist and are still being manifested today are incontrovertible facts. God knows the needs of his people, and when we pray, He miraculously supplies our needs. However, the secret of unlocking divine resources and moving the hand of God to release the miracles lies in the power of appreciating and praising God. Sadly, many professing Christians turn against God after enjoying unlimited blessings from Him. Such act of ingratitude makes such ungrateful recipients incur His displeasure and block further flow of blessings from Him.

Everyone can find peace, comfort, rest and answers to prayers in Christ because of God’s provisions through the finished work of Jesus on the cross at Calvary. But there is a caveat: you must return to God with thanksgiving and commitment to keep obeying His words.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Jehovah Jireh will supply our needs if we trust Him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jeremiah 28-30
