House Fellowship Leader’s Manual Lesson No:
TOPIC: Victorious Christian Living
OPENING PRAYER: Lord, grant me everything required to make my walk with You successful and let it end in praise in Jesus name.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leader should remind members of the dress code expected from believers and the lifestyle desired from saints.
MEMORY VERSE: “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” – Romans 8:7 (KJV)
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: “And David said to Saul let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. ” (I Samuel 17:32). To be victorious means having the mindset of winning no matter the intending oppositions. Every believer has been granted victory at Calvary when Jesus said in John 19:30 that; “it is finished. “
So, no matter the devil’s tricks, wiles, enchantment, our victorious state has been confirmed and established – Numbers 23:23. To be Victorious means to overcome or win oppositions or difficulties, bring down giants and divide the Red sea hampering your going forward.
LESSON AIM: To equip members with the mindset of living victorious life and maintaining their status in their quest as victorious believers.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to know:
- virtues required for victorious living.
- how to maintain victorious Christian living.
TEXT REVIEW: II Timothy 4:7-8
- To gain victory and sustain it, you need to fight.
- There is a virtue required in winning the race i.e. faith in God.
- To every victory accessed, there is reward to be obtained.
- Every believer is guaranteed a reward.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: VIRTUES FOR VICTORIOUS LIVING
Living a victorious Christian life should be every believer’s ultimate goal. Let us look at the inherent power for victorious living:
- Faith in God – Hebrews 11:6;1 Samuel 17:32.
- Aligning with God’s Word – Psalms 107:20.
- Speak faith based Word-Zechariah 4:6; Exodus 14:13-14.
- Be focused in victory, never be distracted -II Samuel 11:1.
- Deal with your weakness and work on your strength – Joshua 7:20-21.
- Have productive time in God’s presence and be holy. Psalms 31:15; Hebrews 12:14.
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: HOW TO MAINTAIN A VICTORIOUS LIFE?
- Guard what you hear. Many people open door to trouble through what they hear. What you hear determines whether you will last – Prov. 4:20
- Keep your heart from evil influx – Proverbs 4:23.
- Your speech should be faith based not enticing word – I Cor. 2; Col.2:4.
- Work on what you see -I John 2:15-17.
ACTIVITY: Why do some Christians fail in this Christian race totally?
SUMMARY: Spiritual awareness and alertness make our race flawless and fruitful.
CONCLUSION: To every victory desired to be won, there are serious purging required.
PRAYER POINTS
- Father, help me to deal with everything that want to stop me from living a victorious Christian life in Jesus name.
- Father, grant me daily the David kind of faith to live a victorious Christian life.
- Father, help us in RCCG to remain victorious to the end in Jesus name.
- Father, help Daddy and Mummy G. O. to end victoriously.
- Father, help the body of Christ in Nigeria to remain victorious in Christ despite all odds.
ASSIGNMENT: Enumerate factors required to make Christian race victorious.
GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK
MONDAY: Guide your heart with all diligence – Proverbs 4:23.
TUESDAY: God fashions human hearts & understands what they do -Psalm 33:15.
WEDNESDAY: Only believers with broken hearts will God tabernacle with – Psalm 34:18.
THURSDAY: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart – Proverbs 3:5.
FRIDAY: A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance – Proverbs 15:13.
SATURDAY: Have the mindset of a victor for you have overcome – I John 5:4
SUNDAY: The heart of the righteous studies to answer – Proverbs 15:28.
