I will remember the works of the LORD; surely I will remember Your wonders of old.

In the middle of a heated battle, even God’s toughest warriors can forget how He has been faithful time and again. Even after the dove had descended on Jesus and God’s voice had rolled down from heaven, John the Baptist still asked, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”
God knew that we have a tendency to forget, so He encouraged some simple habits to help us remember. He told the Israelites to tie His words on their hands and foreheads, speak them to their children from morning until night, and inscribe them on the doorposts of their homes.
To remember His wonders, He instructed them to pile up memorial stones, build altars, and celebrate annual feasts to commemorate how He delivered His children. One generation was to sing His praises to the next!
In case of a memory lapse, look back and remember His works on your behalf. Remember the just-in-time job offer, the word of confirmation, the check in the mail, the miraculous turn-around when the doctors were out of answers.
He was faithful to you in the past, and He is not finished. He will do it again. Remember, and take heart!
