JOEL OSTEEN MESSAGE FOR TODAY 11TH MAY 2024.
The prodigal son had taken his father’s inheritance early, left home, and wasted it all on partying. When the money ran out, he was so desperate that he ended up eating hog food to survive. If he was living image-driven, he would never have gone home. “I can’t let them see me in this filthy condition. Look at what I’ve become. I want them to think I’m happy, successful, on top of the world.” But as long as you’re pretending, as long as you’re wearing a mask, you won’t get the help you need. As with this young man, you have to humble yourself and admit it when you’re struggling, hurting, and broken.
When the young man returned home, the father, who represents God, was there with open arms and fully restored him to his sonship. That’s what He does when you take off your mask, when you get real and authentic. He’ll run to you and clothe you in a robe of His righteousness, deliver you from whatever is holding you back, and help you to live in freedom.
PRAYER FOR TODAY – JOEL OSTEEN 11TH MAY 2024.
“Father, thank You that I can humble myself and admit my weaknesses, sins, and failures. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I stop pretending that I have it all together. I am taking off the mask and coming to You for the robe of righteousness that sets me free. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
