6. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.
7. “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8. “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
9. ” As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10. “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and [that] your joy may be full.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 18TH JUNE 2023.

Our text today calls for us to abide in the love of the Father. As branches cannot bear fruits without abiding in the vine, so also, believers need to abide in the love of God, if they must bear fruits. To abide in the love of God means to be intimately connected to Him, who alone is the True Source of our lives. The love of the Father is rich, real, and very comforting.

Oh, what a joy to be enveloped in the love of the father! Any man who genuinely knows the Father’s love will long for an ever-abiding experience. Abiding in the father’s love gives us the capacity to do all things through the power ofChrist, who strengthens us.

Many are lost and confused because they are disconnected from the Father’s love. The prodigal son left the love of the Father and wasted his life in a faraway country. He paid dearly for it, but thank God that he later returned and was received by the Father (Luke 15).

Are you experiencing dryness in any area of your life? There is a promise of renewal if only you will return and abide in the Father’s love just like the prodigal son. Remember, without Him, you can do nothing (v.5). God’s love is boundless, abide in Him.
PRAYER: Lord, may l always abide in your love, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
