The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 17th May 2022 Is ”Sing To The Lord!”
Read: Psalm 98(NKJV)
1. A Psalm. Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2. The LORD has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
3. He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4. Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5. Sing to the LORD with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6. With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the LORD, the King.
7. Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it;
8. Let the rivers clap [their] hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the LORD,
9. For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity.

STUDY: The Psalmist exhorts that a new song be sung to the Lord for his marvelous deeds, salvation and righteousness. God’s mercy and faithfulness were shown to Israel while the whole world saw His salvation. The earth is to shout to the Lord and sing praises. People should sing to the Lord with harp and trumpets and shout before the Lord, the King. The rivers should clap their hands while the hills should rejoice before God, for He is coming to judge the world with righteousness and equity.Singing is an art that which is done by cheerful people for the Bible says, “Is anyone cheerful?
Let him sing psalms (James 5:13). God gave good voices for man to use and sing to him but today we see people singing to man and to man-made gods. Instead of singing to the glory of God, some people sing to the glory of sin, the flesh and Satan. Beloved, what type of songs do you love to sing or listen to? Do you love to sing R&B, rap, reggae, blues, highlife or juju songs? You would better repent today and ask God for forgiveness. Decide now to sing to the Lord always and your life will be blessed.
PRAYER: Grant, O gracious God, that I have cause to sing to your praise and glory today and always in Jesus’ name.
