Charles was born after his father passed away at age 29, coupled with the great depression experienced in the country at that time.

From there, he continued on to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to earn his Bachelor of Divinity degree. He eventually attended Luther Rice Seminary where he obtained his Theology doctorate and master’s degrees.
