Today’s Word by John Hagee
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE Reference:
Hebrews 11: 1-2
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, those who have gone on before us in the Lord (Hebrews 12:1). Their stories testify of the faith that made them right with God.
One of those elders is Abel. By faith, he offered an acceptable sacrifice. If he were called as a witness, he would testify that God honors faith. Even though his life was cut short when his brother murdered him, Abel’s impact has lived beyond the grave. God did not allow him to be forgotten; He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Another one of those witnesses would tell us that if God says it, He will do it. By faith, Noah built an ark. Faith made him look foolish! He chopped down trees, hammered boards, built scaffolding, and planned for the storm. He was the talk of the town! Decades later, he was just the crazy old man who believed God would still keep His word. And 120 years after the promise, God closed the door of the ark and opened the skies.
Are you holding on for an answer? Are people calling you foolish for believing in a miracle that has not come? Do not be discouraged! God honors faith. If He made a promise, He will keep it.
Today’s Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Ask, and you will receive. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. His promises to you are yes and amen!
