Don’t waste your energy trying to make someone for you that’s never going to be for you. You don’t need everyone to celebrate you. You don’t need all your coworkers, all your relatives to cheer you on. If you become too dependent on people, what they think, “Do they validate me, are they happy with my success?” Then, if they don’t meet your expectations, if they don’t approve you, you’ll spend your time trying to get their approval, upset because they’re not for you. Don’t look to people; look to God. People can get jealous. People can be competitive, moody. You don’t need their approval; you have Almighty God’s approval.
