SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 10:8-10 NIV
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

2021 TEENS VOLUME RHAPSODY OF REALITIES MESSAGE.
It‘s astonishing that many make light of the above verses and miss the amazing revelation it brings to the Church. When God’s Word comes to you, He expects you to do something with it; He gives you His Word so you would boldly respond in consonance with it. That’s what changes your life. The promise alone doesn’t change your life; you’d have to apply the principles because the principles hold the recipe for salvation.
It’s like preparing a meal, even though you have the right ingredients for such a meal, however, if you do not apply the principles behind preparing such a meal, it won’t come out as the desired delicacy. Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?””
The Spirit instructs that you let your manner of life be without covetousness, and be content with what you have, and He tells you exactly why in the concluding part of verse five: “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Had he stopped here, it could have passed off as a promise. However, the next verse says, “So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”” This is how to boldly affirm God’s Word.
When you affirm God’s Word, you don’t merely “quote” it, instead, you give your personal faith-response to the Word based on your understanding of it. An accurate response is learned through the Word and Holy Spirit. With your mouth, you vocalise His Word to mould and shape your life in the direction of His perfect will. Hallelujah!
