The Topic of Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Today 19th July 2022 Is “Praying In The Holy Ghost – Praying In The Will Of God”
SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is the Holy Spirit who helps us to pray according to the Will of God; He helps us to pray target-specific prayers.
The surest way to guarantee our prayer being answered is praying in accordance with the Will of God. And the Holy Spirit helps us to pray according to the Will of God.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that He who searches the heart knows what is in the Mind of the Spirit; because He makes intercession for the saints according to the Will of God. The Holy Spirit helps us to know and pray exactly what God wants us to pray per time. God is not under obligation to answer prayers that are not prayed in accordance with His Will.
It is the Holy Spirit who helps us to pray according to the Will of God; He helps us to pray target-specific prayers. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray prayer that hits the nail on the head.
For example, someone may be offered an opportunity to attend interviews in three places: say, a bank, an oil company and a telecommunication company. Then, he prays fervently that God should give him the job at the oil company because it is believed that jobs in oil companies are well-paid jobs, but this may not be the Will of God for his life.
Now, God, who knows the end from the beginning, might have seen that he would backslide if given the job at the oil company. So, as he prays the prayer of asking God for the job at the oil company, God is not under obligation to answer his prayers because it is not according to His Will.
But when he begins to pray in the language of the Spirit to know which of the three jobs to go for, the Holy Spirit would quicken his spirit to know the specific prayer to pray and the right decision to take.
So, praying in the Spirit is an unavoidable necessity if you want to know the Will of God in prayer.
Remember this: It is the Holy Spirit who helps us to pray according to the Will of God; He helps us to pray target-specific prayers.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Make up your mind to pray in the Spirit abundantly.
Rely on the Holy Ghost totally for effective prayer life.
