SCRIPTURE: Genesis 39:2
And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your connection to your Maker is the determinant of your making in life.
Our anchor scripture makes it clear that the Presence of God was with Joseph. And that Presence was the secret of Joseph’s prosperity even in adversity. Joseph was a prosperous man despite the adverse conditions of captivity at the frequency of the Presence of Divinity.
From the life of Joseph, we learnt that you should never allow the challenges of life to disconnect you from the Presence of your Maker.
It is important to know that despite the challenges Joseph faced, he still maintained God’s Presence (Genesis 39:2).
Beloved, the worst form of loss on earth is not the loss of money, friends or property, but the loss of the Presence of God.
Your connection to your Maker is the determinant of your making in life. Your connection to your Maker is the guarantee of your portions on the earth. Your connection to God commands the flow of good. Your connection to your Source is the guarantee of your resources. So, your Maker guarantees your making, your God enhances your good, and your Source facilitates your resources
When things appear not to go well with you, the devil is only trying to tell you: “What are you gaining by serving God? Try other things apart from God.” But never give up on serving God.
Now, apart from Joseph, Job also maintained God’s Presence despite what he passed through, and in the end, God turned his life around.
Job 13:15 says:
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
My counsel is, maintain God’s Presence at all times and by all means.
Remember this: Your connection to your Maker is the determinant of your making in life.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Make up your mind to maintain God’s Presence at all times and by all means.
Avoid iniquity; it kills God’s Presence in one’s life.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to live in holiness and uprightness so I can maintain Your Presence. I ask for a fresh baptism of Your Presence, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
