The Topic of Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Today 8th May 2022 Is “The Torment Of Fear”
SCRIPTURE: 1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The torment of fear can be worse than the torment of disease.
Sometime ago, a woman testified in one of our services of how she was so tormented by fear that every time she entered a vehicle, the only thought on her mind was, “What if you died before reaching where you are going? Say your last prayer now.” That was how vegetative she was, until that fear was destroyed by the Power of God.
Fear delivers torment. It is a demon, a spirit that torments. And the torment of fear can be worse than the torment of disease. As a matter of fact, the torment of fear can be the precursor of very serious diseases. Fear can be a precursor or a kindergarten of what is called anxiety neurosis – a situation where one’s whole body is literally wrecked by panic.
It makes the whole body miserable. The person can tremble and run at the shaking of a leaf. He can even begin to bind the devil because a mosquito just flew by.
I know a man who experienced the torment of fear. He could not travel home. In his eyes, everyone around him was a witch. There is something called panic attack – someone would remember something and all of a sudden the spirit of fear would come upon them, and their heart would begin to beat uncontrollably. It is called the torment of fear.
Beloved, fear is a major enemy of life and destiny. And if you are to avoid fear, what do you embrace? Embrace faith which will lead to fearlessness, boldness and courage. (Philippians 1:28, NIV). To embrace boldness is to cripple fear.
You shall not be a victim of the torment of fear, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: The torment of fear can be worse than the torment of disease.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
Refuse to fear; confront whatever comes against you with the Word of God.
Rebuke the spirit of fear whenever you feel it around you.
Pray in the Spirit abundantly.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear has no place in me. Thank You for making me victorious on every side, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
