TEENS OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL 4TH JULY 2020.

You should never allow the praises or criticisms of those around you distract you. A defeated king was captured and brought before the king that defeated him. This conqueror brought together his subjects and arranged them on two sides; right and left, he then told the defeated king to carry a cup filled with water and walk in between them.

Behind him was an executioner who was ordered to behead him if he spilled a drop of water. As the defeated king walked in the middle, the people on the right cheered and praised him, while those on the left criticized him and spoke discouraging words to him. The defeated king successfully bore the cup filled with water from one end to the other without spilling a drop.

The king congratulated him and asked: Which group helped you, was it the group on the right or those on the left?. The defeated king said he didn’t even notice anyone. He said his entire focus was on the cup in his hands because he knew he was carrying his life

You will make it through any assignment life. You will make it through any assignment successfully if you refuse to get distracted by what people say. Be focused. Look to Jesus for every single thing you need. One major problem that youths are facing is the lack of focus. You get easily distracted and waylaid even by flimsy things. You won’t make it far if you don’t learn to be focused on the Author and Finisher of your faith, Jesus Christ.

Key Point: You will come up with nothing if you don’t have a goal you are focusing on.

Hymn: Onward, Christian Soldiers!

  1. Onward Christian soldiers!
    Marching as to war,
    Looking unto Jesus
    Who is gone before;
    Christ, the royal Master,
    Leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle,
    See, His banners go!

Chorus:
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Going on before.

  1. At the name of Jesus
    Satan’s host doth flee;
    On then, Christian soldiers,
    On to victory!
    Hell’s foundations quiver
    At the shout of praise:
    Brothers, lift your voices,
    Loud your anthems raise!
  2. Like a mighty army
    Moves the Church of God:
    Brothers, we are treading
    Where the saints have trod;
    We are not divided,
    All one Body we-
    One in hope and doctrine,
    One in charity.
  3. Crowns and thrones may perish,
    Kingdoms rise and wane;
    But the Church of Jesus
    Constant will remain.
    Gates of hell can never
    ‘Gainst the Church prevail;
    We have Christ’s own promise,
    Which can never fail.
  4. Onward then, ye people!
    Join our happy throng;
    Blend with ours your voices
    In the triumph song.
    “Glory, praise and honor
    Unto Christ, the King”, –
    This through countless ages
    Men and angels sing.
