The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for 4th January 2021 Is “THE IMPORTANCE OF FORGIVENESS”

MEMORISE: Matthew 18:35

 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

READ: Matthew 18:23-35

[23]Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
[24]And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
[25]But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
[26]The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[27]Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
[28]But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
[29]And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[30]And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
[31]So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
[32]Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
[33]Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
[34]And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
[35]So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

TEENS OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL 4TH JANUARY 2021.

As a child of God, forgiveness is not a choice. It is a command. Our memory verse for today says God will not forgive you if you don’t forgive others. Believe me, it may not be easy especially if the person has hurt you many times: you might find it hard to forget, but note that the bible says forgive.

Many years ago, before I became the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. I was offended by a pastor older than I, I felt very hurt and disappointed. God however, told me to apologise to him. Then I said, “He is the one who offended me, he should apologise to me instead”, but I obeyed.

When I apologised to the pastor, he said God saved me, if not, he would have dragged me along with him to hell. My child, there are people who are not ready to go to heaven and are ready to take many along Don’t let them take you to hell, forgive those who even intentionally hurt you. The easiest way to do this is to apologise even when you didn’t do wrong and pray for the fellow who offended you. (Matthew 5:44)

KEY POINT: For your own good, forgive over and over again.

HYMN 3: ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER

1. All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever low and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
Chorus:
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee,
My blessed Saviour
I surrender all

2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

3. All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

4. All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
