A dream is a means by which God communicates with man when he/she is asleep at night. It is sometimes called night vision. There are four major categories of dreams:
- Need-based dream: This is a dream that comes as a result of ones needs. According to Isaiah 29:8 , if you fall asleep while hungry or thirsty, you probably would dream and see yourself eating or drinking.
- Thought-based dream: This dream is as a result of what a fellow thought about throughout the day. Thus, one can dream about his/her daily activities (Ecclesiastes 5:3 ).
- Demonic dream: This comes from the devil in order to manipulate or alter a fellows destiny. For example, anyone who sees himself/herself having sex in a dream is a target of the enemy and needs urgent deliverance.
- Divine Dreams: Dreams come from God to direct or inform His children about a future event so that they can pray or act on it.
Many have been deceived into taking wrong decisions through their dreams, this is why you must cover yourself and dreams with the blood of Jesus before sleeping so that nothing will tamper with your dreams.

Dreams are important and must be prayed about immediately you have them.
