OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.

Open Heavens daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for today is here. Digest the word of the lord and pray believing.

TOPIC OF OPEN HEAVENS FOR  7TH APRIL 2020 IS “CHOOSE GOD’S WILL”

OPEN HEAVEN 7 APRIL 2020 MEMORISE: Deuteronomy 30:19

 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

OPEN HEAVEN 7 APRIL 2020 READ: JOSHUA 24:13-18 (KJV)

13. And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

14. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

15. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

16. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

17. For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed;

18. And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land; therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

Genesis 1:28 tells us that in the beginning when God created humanity, He commissioned us to

“…Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.

To fully understand this assignment and successfully carry it out, God created us in His image so we may possess some of His divine attributes.

One of which is the freewill to make choices. That is, the ability to reason and make decisions based on available options. Making choices is a deliberate act of will and is vital for our survival.

However, the fact that humanity was created with the freedom of choice is being overstretched by many today to mean that man is a free moral agent with the liberty to act as he/she wishes, without recourse to God.

Take this as a serious warning: the notion that a person can do whatever he/she likes in this world without repercussions is a lie from the pit of hell.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 instructs the youth to rejoice and celebrate with the consciousness that God will judge all things.

This is confirmed by the word of God in

Ecclesiastes 12:14 that says

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Revelation 22:12 also says:

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

Children of God should therefore make choices and decisions carefully, knowing that God will bring everything to judgement.

Don’t make choices that will lead to sin, sickness, failure, demonic attack or death.

Exercise your will to make decisions that will bring peace, prosperity, divine health, joy in the Holy Ghost, fulfilment of destiny, and eternal life with Jesus.

Choose life by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Choose God’s will. Choose life (Deuteronomy 30:15-20).

OPEN HEAVEN 7 APRIL 2020 PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to make choices that will lead to eternal life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

HYMN 12 – I AM THINE O LORD

1. I am Thine O Lord
I have heard Thy voice
And it told Thy love to me
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

CHORUS:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord
By the pow’r of grace divine
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope
And my will be lost in Thine.

CHORUS:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend.

CHORUS:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

CHORUS:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
