MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

The business terrain is bedevilled by all kinds of ungodly practices nowadays. The love of money has made many business men and women as well as traders to abandon business virtues that are becoming of Christians. You can hardly differentiate between a believer and an unbeliever in the market place and the business world nowadays. This does not have to be so. As Christians, we should do business the Lord’s way. Our conduct in the business world should conform with biblical instructions. We should be shining examples for other business men and women to follow.

One of the important business virtues every Christian should imbibe is diligence. God does not delight in the lazy, sluggard and drones. He is a diligent God and what He accomplished in creation in six days attests to this. Proverbs 22:29 says,

Those who are lazy in business miss the opportunity to enjoy huge profits for their efforts. They also end up cutting corners and engaging in sharp practices. A local proverb says that diligence is the potent cure for poverty. The Bible affirms that the soul of the sluggard will desire and have nothing, but the soul of the diligent will be made fat (Proverbs 13:4 ).

Another important business virtue all Christians should imbibe is fidelity. Joseph had this grace upon his life. His Master, Potiphar, left all he had in his hand; and he knew not what he had, save the bread which he did eat. Joseph was honest and dependable. We need to exhibit this godly trait in the business world. As a Christian trader, you should not be involved in dishonest acts like breach of trust, extortion, false weight and balance, getting of treasures by lying tongue or unjust gains.

Also, as a believer who is in the world but not of the world, you should not seek to get money the way those in the world do. Beware of the trap of mammon! You shouldn’t be involved in making fake products and robbing business associates of the reward for their labour. Every form of dishonesty, stealing, cheating and other ungodly acts will be judged by the Lord. Beloved, I encourage you to imbibe the business virtues highlighted above and get rid of all business vices. You are an ambassador of Christ in the market place and the business world. Be the salt and the light to unbelievers there. Let your light so shine there that people would see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven!

Good character is the single most important attribute of a successful and worthy life.

You shall excel in all your endeavours.

1. O Lord, usher me into great wealth, in the name of Jesus.

2. By the mercy of the living God, I will not miss my divine allocation, in the name of Jesus.

3. My way shall not be stagnant this year, in the name of Jesus.

4. I declare that my season of uncommon breakthroughs has come, in the name of Jesus.

5. I tread upon the serpents of poverty, in the name of Jesus.

6. I receive God’s promotion, in the name of Jesus.

7. O Lord, let Your glory speak for me today, in the name of Jesus.
