Memory verse: James 3:2
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Motivational Quote: And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
Prophetic Word: The hand of the Lord shall bridle thy tongue not to defile the temple of God which is thy body.
Fire Scripture: Psalm 141:2-4
1 YEAR BIBLE PLAN: Ezekiel 14 , Ezekiel 15  & James 2

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

Talk is cheap anyone can open their mouth to talk. Is it not my mouth? No one can do anything to me, I am out spoken, I don’t like to hide my feelings, these are what people usually say so as not to be accountable for what they say or do. But the Bible tells us that we must account for every word that proceeds out of our mouths.
Are you an interrupter, finisher of sentences, talk-over-another kind of person, listen-so-Irespond kind of person, how-can-I-turn-this-conversation-back-from-me participant, say 1000 words in one minute, likes to dominate conversations, hardly listens to others talk?
Are you one of these characters? Can God meet you, when you are in these situations or this way? Manifestation of any of these attributes separates you from God. Will God leave you in this darkness of self-denial, self-inflicted separation from Him? No His grace and love is sufficient but we have to set a watch over our mouths and keep watch over the door of our lips. The question now is: what kind of seeds are you planting with the words that issue from your mouth? Is it profanity, anger, hostility, unkind words spoken to our loved ones?
Is your speech a continual cause of sorrow and distress to people? The truth is that the tongue possesses a tremendous power. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). David understood the power of the tongue and prayed God to set a watch over it.
While angry, say nothing because in the multitude of words, sin is not lacking but one who restrains their lips is wise (Proverbs 6:16-19). It is better to regret you didn’t say something than to regret what you said, words spoken cannot be recalled. Wound from stones and sticks do heal but words wounds the soul. Read the Epistle of James 3: 3-12. The fact here is that no man can tame the tongue, so make Psalm 141:3 your daily prayer and watchword.

MFM DEVOTIONAL HYMN FOR TODAY

SET MY SOUL AFIRE

1. Set my soul afire, Lord, for Thy holy Word,
Burn it deep within me, let Thy voice be heard;
Millions grope in darkness in this day and hour,
I will be a witness, fill me with Thy power.

Chorus
Set my soul afire, Lord, set my soul afire,
Make my life a witness of Thy saving power.
Millions grope in darkness, waiting for Thy Word,
Set my soul afire, Lord, Set my soul afire.

2. Set my soul afire, Lord, for the lost in sin,
Give to me a passion as I seek to win;
Help me not to falter, never let me fail,
Fill me with Thy Spirit, let Thy will prevail.

3. Set my soul afire, Lord, in my daily life,
Far too long I’ve wandered in this day of strife;
Nothing else will matter but to live for Thee,
I will be a witness, for Christ lives in me.
