TOPIC OF MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER IS “OPERATION CMS (CHANGE MY STORY).”

In military parlance, an operation is an activity carried out against enemy forces to win territory or something valuable. Operation CMS means Operation Change My Story. Do you want God, the Story Changer, to change your story? You must engage in effectual and fervent prayer. Spiritual warfare through Holy Ghost-inspired prayers is the key to a positive change in your story and destiny. Prayer is not the preparation for battle; it is the battle itself. As a believer, when you pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, you bring the unseen hosts of heaven into your battle to help and fight for you.

You bring God into your situation and He will use all of creation to work in your favour and give you victory. Prayer, therefore, is the key to getting your story changed positively. Jabez’ life was a far cry from what the life of a son of Abraham should be. His life was characterised by pain, dishonour, lack and shame. His foundation and the name his mother gave him did not help the matter either. However, he cried to God with the spirit of ‘enough is enough’. God answered him and changed his story. His prayer remains a classic till today. He said, “Oh that thou will bless me indeed.

That thou will make your hand to be upon me. That thou will enlarge my coast and thou will take evil away from me and not let it grieve me.” The same God who changed Jabez’ story will change yours positively, in Jesus’ name. Jacob, the supplanter, left Laban, his uncle, after serving him for several years. In spite of his possessions, he knew that his life and story needed divine change. He wanted to make up with Esau, whose blessing he had stolen and needed the help of God, who alone could change his story. To achieve this Jacob prayed.

He had an encounter at Peniel. He wrestled with God’s angel till daybreak and said to the angel, “l will never let you go unless you bless me.” The angel of God changed Jacob’s name to lsrael and said Israel had become a prince with God. He had fought with God and prevailed. Beloved, Yahweh, the story changer is still on the throne. It is not over until God says so. The enemy will not have the final say over your life and destiny. Go on your knees and take that issue to the Lord in prayer. He will change your story and give you a new and glorious name, in Jesus’ name.
