FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 2:12-17

Memory verse:  Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known.

Motivational Quote: Only God has the final say. When human beings and enemies speak and declare that a full stop has been put in place, God will prove them wrong and convert their evil full stop to a comma.

Prophetic Word: It is well with you, in the name of Jesus.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 7TH JULY 2021

Yesterday, we established the fact that there are two categories of people in every society and every congregation: those who truly know the Lord and genuinely serve Him and those who do not know Him or are serving Him deceitfully (the children of Belial).

The above observations would lead us to ask some personal questions: Do you know the LORD? Eli’s sons even grew up in the tabernacle, but their lives had no proof that they knew the LORD. The same goes for you and me, growing up in a church cannot save us. “I am religious”, you might say. Eli’s sons were religious too, but religion cannot save you. “I am a spiritual person,” you argue. You can be “spiritual”, and still be spiritually dead. “I am a pastor, or an elder, or a deacon. I am involved in many church activities.” Eli’s sons were in a holy position, involved in many activities in the congregation of Israel, including regular sacrifices and offerings but it meant nothing without a personal relationship with God.

As we read in Matthew 7: 21-23, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?” And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” Jesus never knew them, because they never knew Him. So, again, my dear friend, ask yourself, “Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ?” The painful truth here is that one can claim to be serving God and at same time be on the fast lane to eternal perdition.

You can be a believer in Christ and at the same time be an irresponsible follower when you always allow the weaknesses of the human nature to find expression in your life. You need to repent today and ask Jesus to saturate every area of your life. No matter the level you are now in your walk with God, you can be as intimate with Him as you would like to be. What do you need to do?

Give your life to Christ and turn away from sins. If you are a believer already, re-dedicate your life to Him and pursue living a deeper life of holiness, yieldedness and service to Him. Read the word of God daily and apply it to your life. Also, pray without ceasing and make your faith in God rock-like.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Anointing of rejection, I shake you out of my head, in the name of Jesus.

2. I flush out the zeal in my life that is without the knowledge of God, in the name of Jesus.

3. My Father and my God, arise and help me to serve You right, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. O God, arise; if my name has been removed from the Book of Life, please re-write it there, in the name of Jesus.

5. I refuse to be a cast away, in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, order my steps to Your reasonable service, in Jesus’ name.

7. The power to start well and finish well, fall upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
