MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 24TH NOVEMBER 2021
A prayerless Christian is a graceless Christian. Prayer becomes effective if Christians do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” In the Lord’s Prayer, the petitions are six. The first three relate more expressly to God and His honour.
The last three addresses our own concerns, both temporal and spiritual. This prayer teaches us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added to us. The prayer teaches us to ask for what we need, not what we do not need. We must ask for the mercy of God.
We must seek the righteousness of God and His will as is it done in heaven. Our Christian life must be devoid of hypocrisy because the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom. 14:17).
Beloved, satan will have a hold on your soul if you profess to be a Christian but you are living in sin. You must seek the kingdom of God and shun sin and worldliness. Worldliness makes your thought, imaginations, reasoning and actions wrong before God. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. All that God requires is holiness and righteousness. If you love Him, you must be committed to His will while on earth as it is done in heaven.
If you love God, you must trust and obey His commandments. Heaven is a place of absolute holiness. It is a place of perfect peace and surpassing tranquility. It is a place of unusual praise and worship to the Most High God. These enviable features of heaven should form guideline and roadmap for the conduct and lifestyle of all who want to reign in Christ in heaven.
When we make the fulfillment of God’s will on earth our priority as it is done in heaven, we will enjoy the supernatural blessings and peace that characterise heaven here on earth and reign with Christ in heaven all through eternity.
MORNING
1. Let the grace of God be multiplied upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. O Lord, supply what is lacking in my faith, in the name of Jesus.
3. O Lord, make me perfect unto Your good work, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. O Lord, inject me with spiritual energy to do Your will, in the name of Jesus.
5. I receive the power of the Holy Spirit to serve God acceptably, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, empower me to make heaven, in the name of Jesus.
7. O Lord, fill me with wisdom and spiritual understanding, in the name of Jesus.
