JOYCE MEYER MESSAGE FOR TODAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2020.

One way you can get over being controlled by your emotions is by talking to yourself. You can talk yourself into emotions like anger and jealousy, and you can also talk yourself out of them.

For example, you can talk yourself into being angry when somebody mistreats you by focusing on the offense, thinking about it, and constantly telling others what happened. But you can also learn to talk yourself out of a rage—When you get away from what’s making you mad for a few minutes and start talking to yourself in a different way, you can start to regain control of your thoughts and feelings. You can even try saying something like this to yourself: Okay, self, just settle down. Don’t give the enemy an open door into your life. Don’t let yourself lose your temper and say a lot of things you’ll be sorry for later. Get God’s direction, think this through, and deal with it when you’re calmer.

Remember, Satan is your real enemy—the one ultimately trying to make you angry—not people (see Ephesians 6:12). When you ask God to heal you and help you deal with offenses in the right way, He will show up and give you the grace you need to forgive (see 1 Corinthians 10:13; Matthew 7:7).

Joyce Meyer’s Daily Devotion Prayer Starter 18/11/2020.

Father, please help me do what’s right, even when I’m hurt or frustrated. Help me know what and how to confront certain things, and give me the grace to forgive __ instead of holding onto anger. In Jesus’ name, amen.
