JOEL OSTEEN MESSAGE FOR TODAY SATURDAY 19TH NOVEMBER 2022.

One thing that can keep us from our destiny is tongue trouble. If we go around saying negative things about ourself, our family, or our future, it will limit how high we can go. When you say, “I’ll never be successful. I’m not talented. I can’t break this addiction. I always get the flu. After what they did, I’ll never be happy again,” you’re giving those words the right to come to pass. You’re prophesying your future. You’re inviting that into your life.

If you have a negative mouth, you’re going to have a negative life. You have to get your words going in the right direction. You can’t talk defeat and lack and live victoriously and in abundance. Your words set the course for your life.

The Scripture says, “The tongue can nourish and the tongue can kill” (Proverbs 18:21). Don’t let your tongue kill your dreams, kill your personality, kill your self-esteem, or kill your value. Let your words nourish your life. You should be your best encourager and speak the words that God says about you: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m a masterpiece. I’m valuable. I’m confident. I’m creative. I am well able to do what God has called me to do.” God says, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” You can’t love others the way you’re supposed to if you don’t first love yourself. Don’t say another negative word that diminishes, devalues, or lessens who you are.

God told Jeremiah that he was going to become a prophet to the nations, but Jeremiah said, “God, I’m too young. I don’t know how to speak.” Doubts and insecurities started to fill his mind. God answered, “Jeremiah, say not that you’re too young” (Jeremiah 1:7). God was saying, “Don’t speak out negative things about yourself, Jeremiah.” And He was giving us this principle: Don’t give life to doubts, weaknesses, and insecurities.

God knew that if Jeremiah went around saying, “I’m too young. I don’t have the experience or training. I’m not good enough,” he would have missed his destiny. When you start to criticize yourself, when you tell God what you’re not, what you don’t have, and what you can’t do, God says to you, “Say not. Zip that up. Quit speaking lack, disadvantage, flaws, or defeat.”

When God created you, He put in you everything you need to fulfill your destiny. He gave you the right looks, the right height, the right personality. You have the gifts, the confidence, the wisdom, and the favor. Now, start speaking positive, faith-filled words. When you speak victory in the face of defeat, health in the face of sickness, abundance in the face of lack, God will do what only He can do and bring it to pass.
