The Topic of Goodnews Daily Devotional for 8th September 2022 Is “NO ONE HIGH LIKE THE MOST HIGH”
Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit;
GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2022.
Most non-Christians or who know some churchgoers might harbour this habit as well: to get intoxicated with wine or some sort of mixture to get them to a point of excitement and elation. They seriously take this drunkenness with wine to bring about ecstasy or euphoria and forget their worries or troubles for a moment. The scripture for today warns against such a form of ecstasy. Some versions of the Bible say it leads to debauchery because it will ruin your life while other translations called it ‘stupidity’. We can now see clearly that it’s not a cool thing to be drunk with wine. On the other hand, in the same scripture, there is a positive form of drunkenness which is engineered by the Holy Spirit. This form of drunkenness in the Spirit will not provoke reckless actions.
When you are drunk in the Spirit, He will guide you to think right with superior wisdom not of this world. In a state of drunkenness in the Spirit, there is illumination, where your thinking faculties begin to get revelation from a divine source guided by the Spirit whereby God will begin to reveal His mysteries to you. The Prophets of old clearly understood this, time after time they mentioned in the Bible, that things they wrote were given to them when they were in the Spirit, or simply put – when they were drunk in the Spirit.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I choose to be filled with the Holy Spirit and I will exceed the ordinary wisdom of man. My lifestyle and character will manifest God’s presence because I am Spirit-filled. Hallelujah!
