“Thou wilt shew me the path of life, in thy presence is fulness of Joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2022.
Most people, including some Christians, are confused about the difference between joy and happiness. Circumstances do not dictate joy, situations, or environment. Joy does not rely on your feelings and emotions; it flows from the inside and is obtained through an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus. Statistics show that most of the world’s wealthiest people, whom the world had placed at the pinnacle of success, suddenly commit suicide. One of the reasons for this tragedy is a lack of joy.
They have found happiness in their achievements according to the world’s standards, such as surroundings, the right mood, conditions, and relationships. This means that their happiness disappears the moment one variable is missing. Hence frustration kicks in to fill the void, and eventually, life becomes meaningless to the person whose life is anchored on happiness. As the scripture points out, true joy, in its fulness, is found when you are submerged in Jesus and marinated in his love. You can only find this state of being in Jesus. With the infusion of His Word in you and guided by the Holy Spirit, there is an irreplaceable inner peace that only gravitates towards eternal and permanent riches above. Let this be your priority now in Jesus’ name, amen!

My heart is full of joy, and I am always at peace. I will always lighten up my surroundings with the brightness and glow of a joyful life, always and anytime, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
