GOODNEWS DAILY TEACHING BY UEBERT ANGEL 24TH JUNE 2023.
Sinful desires are not ignored, they are replaced. That is why throughout the scripture, God will not only tell you to put off wrong behaviours and mindsets, but He also tells you to put on or replace them with what He has deemed suitable for you as a new creation being (Ephesians 4:22-27 KJV).
When you focus on what you do not want to do, you will fail every time. You will find yourself living out the verse for today: when I want to do good, I don’t; and when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway. In this deeper life, you are faced with one persistent question: do you want Christ or the sinful tendencies of the flesh?
This is a great struggle for many Christians, but there is a better way to overcome whatever sinful desire you feel is overcoming you. You simply need more of the Word to counteract and replace the desire you wish to be rid of because light dispels darkness. You need the Word concerning that area of struggle in your heart. If you are struggling with lust, feed on scriptures that speak of purity.
If lying is your issue, load your spirit with scriptures about using the tongue for what is true, good, or wholesome. Find a desire in the Word that overcomes the desire for the sin, and let the Word do all the work.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
My appetite for the Word is increasing. Every desire is exposed to the light of the Word, and all darkness is dispelled.
