Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren
GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 28TH MARCH 2022.
Todays’ verse is a powerful reminder of some of the things God hates. We’ll zone in on one of the things counted which is a lying tongue and a false witness. Some people can’t seem to put a stop to this unpleasant habit and it has become the centre of many jokes that try to normalise lies.
You see, you being born again, have a different nature, the God nature. You’re not in servitude to sin or Satan, because you’ve been made free from death and the law of sin by God’s grace. The very thing that makes people sin has been disabled in your life the moment you allowed grace to induce God’s perfect nature in you.
“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). Now that you’re in Christ, you’ve put on the new man; you’re totally different to whom you used to be. Therefore, you can say, “No” to any bad habit, and that’ll be it. All that’s required is your decision, and the discipline to stick to the Word. Sin can no longer keep you in bondage; it can’t make you do what you don’t want to do anymore, because you have a new nature—the God-nature.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am a brand-new creature in Christ, the old me does not exist anymore. I speak and stand for truth always – I have the nature of God in me. Thank you Lord for your grace which makes me able!
