“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches and honour and life.”
GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 21ST NOVEMBER 2022.
How do you truly measure success? What is the definition of a successful person from the biblical perspective? In today’s scripture, humility is the first thing God requires to open the door for success. You must search hard to see a humble man or woman in our day and age. Pride has consumed almost everyone. For example, a very talented person who sings will hesitate to join the church choir, putting it on shyness. To this day, I always say it is not being shy but pride. As we know from the scriptures, God resists the proud but giveth grace to the humble (James 4:6 KJV).
Two things are mentioned here from today’s scripture: “humility” and “fear of the Lord,” which serve as conduits for riches, honour, and life. In your character, if God can find these two important ingredients as required, then the litmus test is passed, and you are qualified to receive riches, honor, and life. Many people miss out on opportunities and promotions simply because of pride and lack of fear of the Lord. When you think of yourself very highly than you ought to, that is pride. It’s about time to put away pride and practice humility, and you will see the hand of God move in your life like never before! Amen.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
My life will always display true humility towards the things of God and to my fellow brethren. Today, I yield to godly character and living. I win others to Christ through my lifestyle! Hallelujah!
