Today’s Scripture: Matthew 17:2 (KJV)
“And He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.”
GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2022.
Our scripture for today depicts Jesus’ appearance at the mount of transfiguration in the presence of Moses and Elijah. Both prophets of God did wondrous things while they walked on planet Earth. Moses was associated with water and miraculously saved out of water when Pharaoh slaughtered babies his age in Egypt. On the other hand, Elijah is associated with fire when he called fire from Heaven, which killed the priests of Baal. Both men met Jesus at the mountaintop while His disciples Peter, James, and John looked on. The glorious transfiguration of Jesus demonstrates that all power belongs to Him and Him alone. I always tell people that the beauty you see in a butterfly is not so original.
There are stages and processes involved in the development of a butterfly. It was first a tiny round egg. It metamorphosed into a caterpillar, then into a pupa, and finally transformed into a butterfly. We have now graduated from the stages of normalcy in Christendom and plunged into a deeper phase, where glorious living and intimacy with God at another realm and dimension birth forth transfiguration. Do not settle for the ordinary because you are not normal. God handpicks you to run the last course of the relay till rapture, when all those unshakably submerged in Jesus will be transfigured into the glorious body just like Him. Hallelujah!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am the embodiment of Jesus, and my body parts are members of His body. I can do all things through Christ, who works through me. I can never be defeated; victory is my portion as delivered to me in the name of Jesus! Amen!
