The Topic of Goodnews Daily for 29th January 2021 is “The Past Is Where It Belongs, the Past”
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Philippians 3:13
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
It’s a new year and so many great things are there to look forward to. Unfortunately, many Christians have started this year depressed. They remember all the promises they made to others that they left unfulfilled, or goals they set that they didn’t attain.
Some are disappointed in themselves for a lack of spiritual progress. Well, God through Apostle Paul has something to say about that. Rather than live in regret about what you didn’t do last year, or the year before that, snap out of self-pity, spend some quality time with Him, repent of your wrongs and for not doing what you should have done.
It’s time for you to let go of the past! Deliberately ignore and purposefully disregard what happened yesterday. The past is old and obsolete, so why fixate on it any longer? Since Jesus has forgiven you, you should quit looking backward.
That’s right — you can put the past behind you and never revisit it again! God has given you the gift of a new year. The Year of the God kind – it’s your year! Don’t spend it in the past.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
The past has no place in my present or in my future. I am a brand-new creature in Christ. I have a clean slate and I will never look back again in Jesus Name!
