DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY
The grace that drew our salvation plan also factored in the perfection of the redeemed. Attaining this spiritual height and experience is what every believer in Christ must carefully pursue and realize. This is the central theme of Apostle Paul who harped on the need of unity of the Spirit among all who have received and retained the transforming grace of salvation and sanctification of the soul, body and spirit in Christ Jesus. The grace and gifts of God received through Christ are to be employed in different ministry areas such as leadership, pastoring, evangelism and in general building up of the Church.
Apostle Paul having followed Christ fully and obtained mercy of the Lord, felt compelled to exhort all His followers to walk worthy of Him and of our ministerial calling. By teaching, he demonstrated that getting things right as members of Christ’s Body must be through a humble and submissive spirit in discharging of our Christian duties. Unity with Christ helps us to develop and sustain the virtues which enable us become useful workers in the house of God.
Therefore, becoming a perfect man is the sum total of appropriating the graces of salvation, sanctification and the Spirit’s power which Calvary secured for us and utilizing them in building ourselves and the church of God both locally and globally. The perfecting grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is possible and can be maintained through daily faithful walk with Him in study, prayer, praise and watchfulness.
