Ordinary Weekday
First Reading:Â Philippians 2:Â 1-4
1Â If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration:
3Â Let nothing be done through contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves:
4 Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men’s.
Responsorial Psalm:Â Psalms 131:Â 1bcde, 2, 3
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.
1Â Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me.
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.
2Â If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul.
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.
3Â Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Alleluia:Â John 8:Â 31b-32
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
31b-32Â If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, says the Lord.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel:Â Luke 14:Â 12-14
12Â And he said to him also that had invited him: When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor thy neighbours who are rich; lest perhaps they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made to thee.
13Â But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind;
14Â And thou shalt be blessed, because they have not wherewith to make thee recompense: for recompense shall be made thee at the resurrection of the just.
