Ponder This
The Apostle Paul made it clear that the spirit of the antichrist already exists in our world today. Reread today’s verses: “And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.”
What is Paul saying in these verses? He is saying there is a spirit in the world today called, “the mystery of lawlessness” or iniquity. Wickedness has been working. It was at work in Paul’s time, and it has continued to work in the world today. We’re up against spirit beings. We’re up against organized, brilliant, invisible, tireless demon spirits that the Bible calls the mystery of lawlessness. It is a devilish conspiracy. And yet that conspiracy is going to come together in the Last Days under the Antichrist.
Where do you see “the mystery of lawlessness” in the world today?
How does it comfort and encourage you to be reminded that evil beings only work in the world according to the limits God has set?
Practice This
Spend some time praying against the spirit of antichrist that is already in the world today. Ask God to reveal any areas of your life that are in opposition to Him.
