TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 14TH NOVEMBER 2020
Peter began to sink because He took his eyes off Jesus, and paid attention to the boisterous winds and the unstable waters beneath him. Was the wind there when he got off the boat? Yes, but as long as he maintained focus by fixing his gaze on Jesus, the wind was immaterial. The problem with a lot of believers is that they allow chaos to overwhelm them because they make the challenge their focus. Anything you focus on grows.
Child of God change your focus and fix your eyes on Jesus. He is with you irrespective of the situation and challenge you may be facing. And if God be for you, who and what can be against you. What is that situation that you think will sink you? What is that chaotic situation that you feel you will never come out of? Beloved, light can still shine out of darkness. All you need to do is to focus on the God who still moves in spite of the chaos.
In the first chapter of Genesis, it is interesting that the bible begins with showing us how God navigated His way through a dark, difficult and chaotic situation. He did this in order to show us that He is not limited by any situation. Also, to show us how to respond when we are faced with challenges and difficulties. Yes, you will be faced with challenges and difficulties. But don’t allow it to intimidate you, Jesus says: “……..In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”(John 16:33 KJV)
Therefore, you can walk boldly knowing that the Almighty God will make a way where there seems to be no way. I declare to you today that you are victorious. Nothing works against you! The Lord will fight your battles. He will shut the mouth of the enemy.
