TODAY’S WORD BY JOEL OSTEEN.

Joel Osteen Daily Inspiration for Today 6th September 2022.

Numbers 13 tells the story of when Moses sent the twelve men to spy out the Promised Land. Too many of us are like the ten spies who came back and declared that the land was fabulous in every way…except for the giants and fortified cities there. We tend to do what they also did and compare ourselves to the giants that stand in front of our dreams and conclude that “we are like grasshoppers in our own sight.”

Do you feel like a grasshopper today? Do you ever feel as though you’re facing obstacle after obstacle, there’s nothing you can do to overcome it, and it will never work out? You don’t have the resources or the connections to change what you’re facing or accomplish your dream. Are you comparing your present obstacles to yourself? If so, it’s time to stop!

Psalm 78 says that when the Israelites were in the wilderness with the Promised Land before them, “They tested God’s patience and provoked the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power and how He rescued them from their enemies.” Other translations say “they limited the Holy One of Israel.” They didn’t remember that He was limitless.

They didn’t remember that He redeemed them from Pharaoh with miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt or that He split the Red Sea for them and caused them to walk across on dry ground. They didn’t remember! The psalmist goes on to say that because they limited God by not remembering His works, they turned back and were unfaithful to Him. The word “limited” does not apply to God, but it applies to what they put on themselves. They took their limitations and saw themselves as grasshoppers, and that caused them to turn back.

That tells me that although you and I have the power to put limits on God, we also have the power to break our own limited mind-sets. If we’re going to accomplish the things that God wants for us, we can’t focus on our obstacles and setbacks. We have to be single-minded about His Word and power. We have to seek Him daily for His wisdom, His knowledge, His understanding, and His strength. We have to remember who He is and what He’s done. He is the God who has rescued us in the past.

He’s the God who parts our Red Seas. He’s the God who brings water out of our rocks. He’s the God of the impossible. His hands are not tied and never will be tied. Don’t turn back. Take His hands and draw your strength from your limitless God. Everything you need in this life is found in Him
