The Theme of Joel Osteen Daily Inspiration for Today 17th February 2021 Is ”His Delay Is Not His Denial”

When you receive an invitation to a wedding or special event, often there’s the RSVP at the bottom. The host has already counted you into the celebration plans, but if you are going to take part, you need to send them the RSVP. In much the same way, God has already prepared some amazing things for you, but there is a “please respond” attached to His promises. The apostle Paul says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Any promise from God has its yes in Christ, and His promises stand firm. But Paul adds, “And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” God has already said yes, but He wants our response of “amen,” which means “so be it.” Our response to every promise that God has for us should be “Yes, God! Healing is mine, joy is mine, provision is mine, blessing is mine. Everything I need is in Christ, and I’m sending a great big yes.”

A while ago a friend told me about how he had sensed God’s promise for a desire he had in his heart, and how excited he had been. He had prayed about it and told some friends. Years went by, though, and nothing happened. But the desire remained. He said, “I talked to God every morning about it, and I did what I knew to do. I came to church. I prayed. I praised Him for how amazing He is.

As the years went by, and it still didn’t happen, I just kept coming to Him with my yes to the promise.” He kept faithful, and in the process he was growing in his faith and trust. He said, “Victoria, the promise from God finally came to pass, and when it did, I was amazed and so full of joy. And I also realized that if it had come to pass in previous years, I wouldn’t have been ready to handle it. I had some things that needed to be worked out in my life first. But now I was ready, and it’s so sweet.”

I want to encourage you to always have a resounding yes ready for every promise that God gives you, because your yes invites the promise into your life. Keep speaking the amen to the amazing things God has for you. And don’t change your yes to a no because it’s taking a long time to happen. God’s delay is not His denial. It’s preparing you for what’s to come. God is working in you, and working something out of you, so you can take hold of the promises.
