TOPIC: The Anti-christ

MEMORY VERSE: 1 John 2:18

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

BIBLE PASSAGE:  Revelation 13:1-9 KJV

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

LESSON OUTLINES:

  1. BIBLICAL REFERENCES TO THE ANTICHRIST
  2. THE MISSION OF ANTICHRIST

OUTLINE 1:BIBLICAL REFERENCES TO THE ANTICHRIST

There are biblical reference to the antichrist. These include: the imposing. (Dan. 7:25); the leader who establishes a seven-year covenant with Israel and then breaks it.(Dan. 9:1-9); the king who sets up the abomination of desolation (Mark 13:14); the man of lawlessness (2 Thess. 2:1-12); the rider on a white horse (representing his claim to be a man of peace. (Rev. 6:2); the first beast, the one from the sea. (Rev. 13:1-9); the little horn (Dan. 7:8); Man of sin (2 Thess 2:3); False Christ (Matt. 24:24-25); the Liar ( 2 Thess. 2:4); Son of perdition (2 Thess. 2:3); Deceiver (Matt. 24:4-5); Vile person (Dan.11:21); the wicked (2 Thess. 2:8).

OUTLINE 2: THE MISSION OF ANTICHRIST

i. He will receive power from Satan to rule the world. Dan. 7:25-26; Rev. 13:2
ii. He will work great miracles to deceive people. Rev. 13:11-13
iii. He will position his images in strategic and holy places and force people to worship them. 2 Thess. 2:4; Matt. 24:15
iv. He will speak great thing s and blasphemies. Rev. 13:5
v. He will make war with the tribulation saints.13:7
vi. He will persecute the remnant that will be faithful to God and kill them. Rev. 12:17
vii. He will speak and prophesy lies to confuse people. 2 Thess. 2:4
viii. He will take control of both the political and economic powers of the world. Rev. 13:16-17
ix. He will give identification number to those who will accept him. The number is 666. This number will allow people to buy/sell, access social amenities, and them for eternal destruction. Some of those who reject the number will be killed. Rev. 13:18

Note that, close to the end of the tribulation period, the antichrist will be bound and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone along with his followers (Rev. 19:20) Christ will take away the kingdom from the antichrist and establish His holy kingdom forever (Daniel 7:26-27). This will mark the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ on earth.

CONCLUSION: Believers should “double” preparation towards the appearance of Christ which will be sudden as a thief in the night in order not to partake of the operations of the antichrist during the tribulation period.
