OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL FOR 3RD DECEMBER 2020.

A common question I asked always is: “Where is the burial place of Moses?’ The Bible does not say exactly where but in Deuteronomy 34:5-6 it say,

“5 So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.

6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.”

So, we know he was buried, and by the Lord, and that it was outside Beth Peor, which is east of the Jordan. But why did God choose to keep the burial site a secret? Humans have a tendency to use significant people, Places, or objects, as objects of worship. An example of this is in 2 Kings 18:3-4. This passage tells us that Hezekiah, King of Judan, destroyed the bronze serpent pole that Moses made (NumberS21) to preserve Israel from death by snake bites. So the BRONZE SERPENT BECAME AN OBJECT OF WORSHIP! If you visit Russia today, you will find that Mr. Lenin’s body has been on almost uninterrupted display in the popular Red Square (Moscow) Since 1924.

A black stone in the middle of the Great Mosque attracts Moslems throughout the world every year. It is believed that it fell from heaven and is the most holy spot on earth in Islam. Orthodox Jews insert slips of paper with prayers into a remnant of the ancient temple called the Wailing Wall. So, the average human being has the tendency to glorify people and things, instead of God. That is why Moses was called a servant of the Lord here. He accomplished great things in his lifetime but all of it is as, “a servant of The Most High”.

He did all he did because HE WAS EMPOWERED BY THE MOST HIGH by the RIVER OF GRACE! In the midst of the deaths/tears of COV1D -19, see your life and ministry as BY HIS GRACE! When you forget that It is all by GRACE, you will end up in DISGRACE! Resist the PRAISE OF MEN because PRIDE will be your DEMOTON MEDICINE! Isaiah 42: 8 (our 2nd scripture) was why God did not want the location of the dead body of Moses to become a pilgrimage sight or a shrine because He cannot share His glory with the living or the dead! No matter how 2020 has been, give God the glory for the GIFT OF LIFE
