Have you ever heard the story of the guy who could not decide which side he wanted to fight for during his country’s Civil War? He put on the coat of the North and the trousers of the South, and guess what? He was shot at from both sides! This is what happens to the compromiser, the person who tries to live in two worlds. It’s one miserable place to be. Sadly, there are many in the church today that live a compromised life. One price of compromise is DIVISION. Remember the story of the United Methodist Church which is reported to be the 3rd largest religious denomination in the United States. The church was ready to split into more than one denomination due to GAY MARRIAGE CONTROVERSY! Yes indeed, one little COMPROMISE leads to another! Apostle Paul warned against this in his letter to the Corinthian church. Hear him, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Cor.1:10). My MASTER, Jesus Christ, said in today’s Word, “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand” (Mark 3:25). Now catch this hidden truth: SATAN FEARS THE UNITY of the church or FAMILY! A united church is his WATERLOO, so he will do all he can to cause CONFUSION, quarrels, bitterness, DIVISION, COMPROMISE WITH THE WORLD, etc. This week, resist him as we cancel DISUNITY! The same is applicable to families today! Husband and wife disagree! Children and parents disagree! So many siblings are in court for one issue or the other! That is the devil’s strategy because he knows the power in unity and agreement.He knows that two are better than one (Ecclesiastes 4:9), he knows that it is more difficult to defeat two people and a three-fold cord is difficult to break (Ecclesiastes 4:11- 12); he knows that when you agree, you will chase thousands (Leviticus 26:8; Deut 32: 30). In the words of Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” And J.K Rowling opined, “We are as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.” Today, I urge y o u t o b e a U N I T Y A G E N T ! Be the first to greet or apologise and God will reward your humility because the way up is down! Never forget: A Divided Army Is A Disgraced Army; A Divided Family Is A Defeated Family! 3. The way up is down. Lord, I shall be an agent of unity! I shall forgive and I shall never go down in Jesus name (Pray it seriously for 2 days).
4. Lord, restore whatever I have lost due to DIVISION..
5. Pray against every spirit of division and schism in your life, family, ministry and business.
