OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL FOR  14TH  MAY 2021.

In the words of Christine Ha: “I feel like cooking is a way of self- expression and of being able to share myself and my story with other people.” She also said: “Cooking for someone else is also a way to show love.” In summary, cooking became a passion for Christine Ha and not just a favourite past time after a major event happened in her life: SHE BECAME BLIND! As I welcome you to today’s devotional, be informed that Christine Ha never wanted to be a chef from childhood but when she lost her mother and her sight, she had to learn to take care of herself and cook for herself. She started teaching herself how to cook and how to navigate her way through life.

She learned how to navigate with a cane, read braille, and use screen-reader technology. Now, losing her mother and going blind was more than enough to kill any passion that anybody had towards anything in life. It is even enough to make some people commit suicide! Many would blame and curse God, as suggested to Job by his wife. Learning how to cook at the age of 20 as a blind person, especially mastering the act of cooking to the level of winning the season three edition of the Master Chef competition in 2019, was a feat that only the passionate and courageous can achieve. And Christine Ha did it, despite all the challenges her disability threw at her. She conquered over 30,000 home cooks all over America and became the first-ever blind chef to compete and win the Master Chef competition. This earned her the coveted Master Chef title: $250,000 cash prize and a book deal.

Christine Ha currently runs her restaurant-BLIND GOAT RESTAURANT, in Houston. Wow! Lift up your hands and declare 7 times now: “I am not a quitter! Circumstances of life will never swallow up my courage! I shall hold on to the GOD of my salvation till my change comes, because I know that every battle I pass through shall end up in praise.”Today’s Basic Scripture(Vs.6) says: “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.’’Now, David and his men returned to Ziklag to discover that their wives and children had been taken captive and Ziklag burnt down. The Bible says that David and his men cried so much that they had no more strength in them. But “David encouraged himself in the Lord.’’ There comes a time in life when things happen and we experience losses.

There is nothing wrong with crying and letting out the pain inside but refuse to let any loss, sorrow, pain, betrayal or grief make you bitter and hateful!Let them make you BETTER and not BITTER! This is exactly what 2 Corinthians 4:17 is hitting at: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.’’Gold is born from GRIT (pain). David enquired of the Lord, pursued, overtook and recovered all that the Amalekites had taken away (1 Samuel 30:18-19). THAT SHALL BE YOUR STORY! Remember this WORLD CLASS CHEF and HOLD ON!
