Teens Open Heavens Daily Devotional 5th January 2022

Mourners are those who are sad as a result of an occurrence, However, a Mourner in the context of todays discussion is one who is most concerned about the state of things in his/her immediate environment or the world at large, particularly as regards sin. In the world today, a lot of unthinkable things happen.

GOODNEWS DAILY WEDNESDAY 5TH JANUARY 2022

For instance, in my days lesbians and gays were not common: infact, homosexuality was a taboo. It is still a taboo in the eyes of God. (Leviticus 18:22), but unfortunately it’s becoming acceptable to the extent that there are now so many genders, whereas God made us only male and and female (Genesis 1:27).

This should make any true child of God mourn. As a Christian, you should not only mourn for the state of things in the world today. you should cry out by preaching to the lost souls.

You should correct erring believers around you in love and pray earnestly for the labourers in God’s Kingdom, as well as lost souls. Don’t be complacent! Take action, and as you do, may the Lord comfort you with souls and crowns in His Kingdom at the end of the age, in Jesus’ name.

OUR DAILY BREAD DEVOTIONAL FOR WEDNESDAY 5TH JANUARY 2022

KEY POINT

Don’t be complacent about the level of sin in the world. Act!

HYMN

1 On a hill far away
Stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross
Where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

CHORUS:
So l’ll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross;
And exchange it someday for a crown.

2 Oh, that old rugged cross
So despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God
Left His glory above,
To bear it to dark Calvary.

3 In the old rugged cross,
Stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see;
For ‘twas on that old cross
Je-sus suffered and died,
To par -don and sanc-ti-fy me.

4 To the old rugged cross
I will ever be true,
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day
To my home far away,
Where His glory for-ever share.
