daily devotion for today

The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for 2nd March 2021 Is “Respect All”

MEMORISE: Proverbs 14:31

He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

READ: 1 Samuel 17:42-51

  1. And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
  2. And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
  3. And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.
  4. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
  5. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
  6. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.
  7. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
  8. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.
  9. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
  10. Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 28-29, Mark 9:1-50

TEENS OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL 2ND MARCH 2021

God loves everyone so much that He said in Matthew 25:40 that whatever you do to anyone, you do it to Him. Therefore, no one is to be disrespected. These days, you will hear children refer to the driver of their parents as my driver. Some would even call them by their first names. This is a wrong attitude. Every one is to be respected no matter what they do for a living. That woman you call a common cleaner today may be of great help to you tomorrow. Consider the story of Naaman, a great man who had leprosy. 2 Kings 5:13 says

“And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?”

The servants pleaded with Naaman to obey Prophet Elisha, he did and got healed. If he had been wicked to them, do you think they would beg him? The servants also called him father. This shows that there was a good relationship between them. My child, no matter the height you attain in life, respect everyone.

KEY POINT:

God created that cleaner the same way He made you.

HYMN 3: All To Jesus I Surrender

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

Chorus:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
