The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for 23rd April 2022 Is “Not Forever Saved”

Read: Ezekiel 3:17-21

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Memorise: John 15:6

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 19:1-48 , 2 Samuel 7-9

Some people have been going about preaching a heresy that once saved is forever saved with the implication that all your actions after salvation, whether good or bad, have been covered by the blood of Jesus. Hence, you can do and undo. Some went further to say that even if you sin after giving your life to Christ, you will still make it to Heaven. These are terrible lies from the pit of Hell.

Today’s Bible reading establishes that when a righteous man returns to sin, all past righteousness becomes null and void and he will be judged as a sinner. The fact is that having once believed in Christ, backsliding can take a person to Hell. This is why you must work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12 ). The Bible also says that whoever places his hand on the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom (Luke 9:62). Don’t be deceived my child; once you give your life to Christ, you have to abide in Him by constantly living a holy life and developing your relationship with the Holy Spirit as He will guide you into all truths. This is the only way to ensure that your eternity is secure.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please give me the grace to constantly abide in You so that I wont be a castaway.

HYMN: When The Trumpet Of The Lord Shall Sound

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound
and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks,
eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather
over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder,
I’ll be there.
CHORUS
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
I’ll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning,
when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of his resurrection share;
When his chosen ones shall gather
to
their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder,
I’ll be there.
Let us labour for the Master from
the dawn till setting sun;
Let us talk of all his wondrous
love and care.
Then, when all of life is over,
and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder,
I’ll be there.
