The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Friday 22 Nd September 2023 Is “Music and Its Dynamics”
Read: Acts 16:25-34
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
Memorise: Ephesians 6:1-3
Children, obey your parents the Lord: this is right. Honor thy father and mother: which is the first commandment with promise: That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
In different Scriptures, the Bible has established that Christianity requires a constant walk with God and this walk is laced with certain spiritual encounters to examine our faith. Jesus encouraged us that He has overcome the world, despite the many challenges that might come our way, however, many Christians still become defeated by the enemy who now uses music as a subtle strategy to derail God’s children from the path of righteousness. God built musical instruments into lucifer’s body at his creation (Ezekiel 28:13) and made him the choir master in Heaven. After lucifer was expelled into hell because of his pride, he started using music as a weapon to get more souls into his kingdom.
He knows that the more you sing praises to God, the more you please God. So, he gives lyrics to his agents to pollute the society. The more people sing his songs, the more he quietly infiltrates the environment with evil. Ungodly songs promote immorality, lukewarmness, affliction, et cetera. As God’s child, you must make a conscious effort to compose and sing only songs that glorify God and shame the devil. Sing hymns and songs inspired by the Holy Spirit in worship to God.
ACTION POINT:
Irritate the devil today by downloading only gospel music on your phone and singing praises to God.
HYMN 10 – Praise, My Soul, The King Of Heaven
- Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
To His feet your tribute bring.
Ransom’d, heal’d, restor’d, forgiven,
Who like thee His praises should sing?
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Praise the everlasting King! - Praise Him for His grace and favor
To our fathers in distress.
Praise Him, still the same as ever,
Slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Glorious in His faithfulness! - Father-like He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows.
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Widely yet His mercy flows! - Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Praise with us the God of grace!
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Micah 1-4
